KARLSRUHE, Germany, Dec. 13, 2016 — Photonic systems provider Physik Instrumente GmbH & Co. KG (PI) has appointed Scott Jordan as head of the photonics market segment. 

 

Jordan, a PI Fellow, holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in physics from the University of California, Irvine, and an MBA in finance and new venture management from the University of Southern California. Jordan has several patents related to fast alignment techniques and was central in the development of PI's Multi-Channel Photonics Alignment System, a novel, modular, industrial-class system that automates silicon photonic alignments for packaging and test.
